Google search big adjustment: launch independent mobile search engine index

近日，谷歌搜索引擎优化(Google SEO) head Gary Illyes announced at a meeting,Google将推出一套独立的移动搜索索引The crawling of mobile web pages will run separately from the computer version.

In the past, Google did not distinguish the search results of computer desktop version or mobile phone version according to the device attributes, but mainly calculated the algorithm according to the computer version website. Even if users use mobile devices to search, Google still uses the algorithm results of computer desktop version website.

此番调整意味着Google将对搜索进行重新考量，过去电脑版网站一直占据主导地位，移动版网站仅仅是作为一个简化版或是轻量版本。伊耶斯提到，Google将在几个月内开发此项独立的移动索引，它将成为谷歌搜索的“主要”搜索索引。单独的电脑桌面版搜索索引会继续保留，但它的数据更新速度将不如移动搜索索引。

根据伊耶斯描述，移动索引的抓取频率、更新的时效性会超过电脑桌面版，而且最重大的变化可能是谷歌将以不同的方式运行排名算法，它将从“纯”移动内容中抓取内容以确定搜索结果排名。这也意味着，用户将来在使用手机进行搜索时，可能会得到与电脑版搜索不同的结果。

不久前，谷歌推出名为“加速移动网页”（AMP）的服务。在移动搜索中，谷歌将会保存新闻网站的网页，以更快的速度提供给读者，使得手机端新闻阅读更加原生，体验更佳，而谷歌也将和新闻媒体共同分享由此产生的广告收入。

除了推出类似 AMP 这样小试牛刀的服务以外，谷歌一直在移动搜索上欲做出大的调整。2013 年谷歌推出“应用内索引”项目，该项目模仿谷歌在网页世界中的运行方式：尝试为移动应用中的内容建立索引，然后在移动端的谷歌搜索结果中提供指向这些应用中内容的链接。“无论内容位于应用里还是网站上，我们都应该帮用户找到。”Google应用搜索项目产品经理劳伦斯·张（Lawrence Chang）说。

The "Application Index" project is based on the "deep link" technology, which is also used by Facebook, Twitter and other enterprises. This technology gives unique addresses to different content sections of mobile applications, which are similar to web addresses. App links look similar to web links, but when clicked, they will introduce users to applications instead of web pages.

但这项技术要想实现并非易事，由于应用之间处于相互隔离状态，而很多开发者们并没有在其中包含链接。即便包含链接，谷歌也须与应用开发者逐一签订协议，才能获准使用这些内容，而无法直接利用网络爬虫来抓取链接。

时隔三年，该项目的进展速度似乎并没有达到Google的预期。因此Google似乎想另辟蹊径，搭建一套新的移动索引系统。于是在 2015 年的 SMX East 大会上，Google首次提到他们正在尝试创建移动搜索索引，从那时起，Google明确表示移动索引是有意义的，并推动这一想法的实现。

目前伊耶斯也并未过多透露相关信息，因此暂时无法得知Google移动搜索索引的运行方式。
